FAQs

WHAT PREPARATION NEEDS TO BE MADE FOR A TIMBER SHOP FASCIA?

Be prepared or prepare to fail.  New timber needs two primer coats, one oil based undercoat and one or two gloss top coats, check with your decorator.

Your sign will only look as good as the amount of preparation put in. Please be aware if I arrive on site and the sign surface is unfit for purpose there will be a charge for all time and travel incurred.

CAN YOU SIGN WRITE ON ANY SURFACE?

Just about, I’ve written large letters on rough brick work, Gilded letters on velvet and onto canvas shop awnings. Go on, give me a challenge

YOU NEED A SIGN, WHAT DETAILS DO I REQUIRE

A photo of the sign location and a building elevation if there’s one. Height and width of the fascia, internal to the frame. Artwork design and colour references. if you don’t have these I can advise on design and layout. Site visits can be arranged.

OK THAT’S GREAT, HOW CAN I BOOK YOU IN?

I will require a 50% deposit of the quoted cost with balance due on completion. I can usually start the work within three weeks, often sooner.

HOW MUCH WILL IT COSTS?

This depends entirely on the job and not always on letter size or quantity, small letters can often take longer to write.
Gold leaf gilded on glass or painted timber will cost more than painted enamel letters.
